Well, I haven't spoke of Mom in awhile... things are continuing to get worse. She's becoming violent with my sister, Trish, and a little with Dad, but mostly Trish. There's something about Tricia that she just doesn't like. Really.
Anyway, things have progressed... however, Dad has been able to get some medication into her through cookies or other 'sweets'. For the longest time, she was throwing the meds at Dad - but it's good that she's taking them. However... it's not helping. We are past that point.
So about a week ago, Trish and Dad had a heart to heart following a very bad and scary episode from Mom. It was decided that we did indeed need to get someone in the home to evaluate and potentially help. Now with that being said, we could have easily been denied because Mom is so bad... but it was worth a shot.
Yesterday, Dad and Trish had an agency come out to the farm to talk/evaluate. Mom slept the whole time while the lady was there, which was ok - they were able to talk, but frustrating that the lady didn't see how Mom is. Regardless, after lots of conversations... we will have a nurse coming into the farm daily (week days only) from 11am to 7pm, starting Monday, September 26. The nurse will come for 2 weeks (required to do that)... and then there will be another small evaluation/discussion with Dad to see how things are going, etc.
We don't know what will happen... what that nurse will see... how any of this will lay out. But, for the next couple weeks, Dad will be able to do some things around the farm without hesitation and get away without feeling too much guilt. (Although, I know he will... but hopefully it'll be better).
