CESOD Auditions (2022-2023 year)

Saturday afternoon was the official audition for CESOD.

Cora stretched and did a bunch of stuff in the morning...  then all of the sudden got pretty quiet and was acting off.  She eventually told me she was nervous.  It broke my heart, but I tried to help her through it.  There have been a lot of changes happening at the studio - families leaving including a few of her closest girl friends/dance buddies.  I know that's weighing on her, and I hate that.

Anyway, we went... she was off, and about 30 minutes into the audition, I got a call from Miss Charlee.  She explained that Cora was very pale and clammy...  not feeling well and just was not looking good.  I went to the studio and talked with her. Cora wanted to leave right away...  I told her we needed to sit and just talk first... and we were going to try to push through this.  Miss Charlee talked with her...  and about 15 minutes later, she went into the studio room.  I ended up waiting in the parking lot the rest of the time, just in case...

She fought through the entire audition...  when she got in the car, she talked some, but was definitely not herself.  She said she did her best, and hopefully that was enough.

Cora rested in the afternoon... didn't eat much, and didn't say much at all either.

Sunday she seemed a little better... but definitely still not 100%.  Luckily we had just planned to stay home and relax.  She did just that... we did a little few things, but mostly she rested and just watched TV.  Eventually by Sunday night she wanted to go outside and play with the neighbors.

Not sure what this was all about...  but I'm just praying it was a little bug and we are good.

I worry that Cora was nervous for auditions.  The staff knows her and they know what she can do...  so I hate that she was worried about that.  I don't want my 9 year old to be worried about stuff like that.  This is supposed to be fun.

So... more to come.  Hopefully we get a "you are in" email!  :)

#5 13U baseball tournament - USSSA Swing for the Fences (Dike/Cedar Falls)

Champions again!

Ryan and K (and team) headed to Dike Saturday morning...  a tournament that we've never played in before (or at least against teams we've never played against).  Aces went 2-0 on Saturday...  good games, and from what I could tell, Kayson did great at pitching.

Saturday night Jarren's parents hosted the team - hot dogs, burgers, fire pit, drinks and a little football in the backyard.  So nice of them.  Both Ryan and Kayson said it was great.

Sunday they played around 11:30 I think - came out with a win, then into the championship game!  From what I was told - they shouldn't have won, but they did!  ha.  Makes me laugh.  I mean - why would the team have the championship go smooth and flawless, right?  Regardless they came out with some more bling!!  Proud of them!

#4 13U baseball tournament - USSSA Norwalk 1 day Showdown

We spent our Saturday in Norwalk...  winning another tournament!  Oh my goodness, what a day... what fun and what a win!

Kayson and team did great...  they were locked in.  Some great pitching and great plays...  The championship game was a nail biter too, we were up by quite a bit in the 5th inning, then the other team got some great hits and runs...  then we landed in a tie...  it was up to us to get one run!  And we did.  My gosh, what a nervous ending!

2022 Mother's Day weekend & #3 13U baseball tournament - May Madness

Friday night was free... like free, free, with nothing to do.  I sat outside for awhile and watched Cora play with neighbors...  then we just chilled.
Saturday, Kayson had a baseball tournament near by - which was nice. And to top it off, the sun was out and it was a beautiful day!  Finally!!  We all got a little sun too...  my neck is sore!  Oops.  The boys won one game, then the second game ended in a tie.  Hate those!

We got home and just enjoyed a quiet night.

Sunday was Mother's Day.  Always one of those days that hits harder than others...  definitely blessed to have my kiddos and thankful that God chose me to raise them.  But knowing my Mom is not here, hurts.  I hate it.  And I hate that I'm not close to Clarion to go to 'see' her.  And to top Sunday off - it was a rainy, icky day!  It's always crappy on Mom's day!  WHY!  We had baseball - which was delayed about 3 hours...  and unfortunately, we didn't "show up" for that game.  It was tough, so we headed home after that game.   The rest of the day was relaxing.  I did get groceries, then I just relaxed, listening to Ryan snore!  GRR.   But it was a pretty good day, and the kids got me some nice things.  I'm very blessed.

Free Weekend - MercyMe Concert!

It was a free weekend - no dance competition, no baseball tournament.  And we were bored!  ha.  But it was so needed.

Saturday we just hung out at home...  we did get out and do a few things as a family - Nike store to get Ryan a few pairs of shorts, and K needed another pair of shoes.  We strolled around WalMart too - our Saturday outing.  ha.

Saturday late afternoon, I went to meet up with Tiff and Kelsey - we were headed to the MercyMe concert!  I was so excited to get out of the house, and be with friends... and honestly - worship at a concert.  It's amazing - you all should try it.  Kelsey's daughter, Abi, and two of her friends were with us too - we went for supper downtown at Court Avenue Brewery... it was pretty good.  Then we headed to Wells Fargo... where we met up with Mandi.  Oh we had such a good time...  it was fun being together and then just listening to some amazing messages through song.

Sunday was a quiet day too...  which was needed, I was tired!  Kayson had baseball practice... and sis had dance practice too.  I got groceries, did some laundry, and I took a nap.  It was amazing.  But again, we were pretty bored...  the weather has been gross and cold, so tough for the kids to get motivated to go outside!

Good weekend...  we are feeling a little refreshed from the quiet weekend.

And Miss Aylah is 8 weeks old and goes to daycare today and Momma Hope is back to teaching.
