Summer... more!

Some summer pics...  I think the kids have been enjoying summer.  I do feel like it's going fast already!!

We had a really bad wind storm come through...  and did some damage on our street.  Our favorite, and prettiest tree in the backyard is gone.  Just snapped.  I'm so sad!!!  The neighbors trampoline went for a ride down the street.  And Berger's fence busted.  What a mess!!!

Dance Champs NATIONALS!

A solid four days away from home...  and I missed home, missed Kayson, missed Ryan, missed Boomer.  What a trip!!

Cora and I headed out to Liberty, MO Thursday around noon.  We arrived and got settled into the hotel - then we were instantly non-stop!  Thursday evening there was a team building night at a near by entertainment center - bowling, arcades, food, laser tag, etc.  It was a great time... very loud, but fun.  The kids had a blast, and was very difficult to get them all out of there!

Friday morning some of the girls went swimming...  then we got ready and headed to the venue.  First dance of the day for the girls was Pizza Party!  It was great!  We stayed around and watched a ton more dancing, and just had a nice time.

Friday night we ended up chilling a little in our room.  We honestly hadn't had much time just me and Cora, and I could tell she needed a little break.  So we popped popcorn and just watched TV.

Saturday morning there was more swimming.  Then again, got ready for High School Musical to dance Saturday afternoon.  Again, a great performance - actually, I would say it's the best I've seen.  It was amazing!  Then we wrapped up Saturday night at the pool again - lots of girls finally got some swimming in, and the adults sat at the patio near by and talked and talked all night long.  It was a very nice evening - fun to get to know some other Mom's.

And Sunday was the Cosmic Challenge - so basically, showcasing the best of the best from the last couple days.  HS Musical danced and nailed it again.  It was a great afternoon, but to be honest - we were ALL ready to head home!  You just get to a point where you miss home, and you need a break!  But we all survived and had a great time... some great memories!

Pizza Party - 1st place Overall and Entertainment Award!

HSM Production - 1st place overall

CESOD - 1st place Star Studio!

Shanna & Spencer's wedding!!

Flower girl #2 opportunity for Miss Cora!!

What a busy couple of days!  Cora and I headed to Cedar Rapids Friday around noonish...  getting there about 3:00.  It was a good drive, we just sang and sang in the car... glad I have a singing buddy.  :)  We met up with a few cousins just at the hotel and chatted, then headed to the rehearsal!  It was nice to meet some of the wedding party (all very nice), and we had a nice supper with Trish, Greg, Mo & Gary and the others.

Saturday we slept in a little...  just took it easy in the morning, which was nice because I knew Cora was going to have a long day!  Me too!  We had our cousin from Arizona do Cora's hair, which was super fun... fun to chit chat with them while that was being done.  Cora did well and loved it!

Then we headed to the venue... and the day started.  Lots of sitting around, but she did well - just soaked in all the pretty girls and Shanna looking beautiful.  Pictures were done.  Then it was time to start... wedding was perfect, and so sweet.  Cora did awesome.  They did a lot of the 'traditional' wedding stuff - so there was a lot of sitting and waiting, which can be a little frustrating for a 8 year old!!!  Thank god for family there!   There was dinner (which wasn't all that great in my opinion), and there was dancing - lots of dancing!  Cora lived her BEST life on that dance floor with her cousins.  Wow, she loved it!!

The night ended for us about 10:45.  SO LATE!!!  But it was worth it...  then we unfortunately had to head back to DSM first thing Sunday for dance (and we thought baseball), but games ended up being cancelled due to much needed rain.

What a great couple days - exhausting, but so great.  I'm glad Cora got to experience all of that!

A few summer camps!

Kayson took a basketball camp at GrandView College last week...  he went with Caleb, so that was good.  K said it was hard, but fun...  so I like to hear that.  It was an all day camp for 4 days, which was perfect - gets him out of the house for awhile and off his phone!!  #12yearoldboys

Cora also took a summer camp last week --- an Art in the Park camp!  She went with her friend, Zoe, and Zoe's sister, Lexi.  They did so many arts last week - it was awesome, seems like completely worth our money!!  They had a good time, and again, was good for sis.

and some fun pictures of the kids showing off their muscles!  :)
