8th Grade Track - Continued!

Kayson has continued with track and it's going well...  he still isn't all that excited about it, but he's doing so well!!  I seriously am so proud of him!!

3rd meet - ran the 4x100 at Johnston.

I tell you what - that was the most exciting race!  Kayson killed it!  He was 2nd leg, and did so well - zoomed past a kid.  It brought back all the memories!!!

4th meet - ran open 400, open 200 and 100 in the Spring Medley - Timberline hosted a B/C meet.

Again, did so well!  He crushed the 400 in his heat - was in 2nd place, then again, passed a kid at the 300 meter mark, and was so exciting!!  Oh my goodness.

His 200 was pretty good... not as strong, but did well.  and he crushed his 100 in the Sprint Med too.

Scott, Niky, Grandma and Papa came to watch too, so that was fun.  We went out for supper afterwards, so that was nice too.

So fun, and I'm so glad he's gone out!!

2023 Mark of Excellence dance competition (#5)

We have wrapped up regionals!!!

Saturday was a full, long, busy day for our Cora - up at 5:30 am...  out the door at 6:30 am... dance, dance, wait, dance, wait, dance... out of the venue at 9:15 pm.  We were wiped out!!!

It was successful day though.  I know Cora is kind of 'done' with their trio, but that's ok, it's been a good run and she is strong at tap.  The other dances did well too - SpongeBob is becoming one of our favs, which is fun.  and Wepa is just a strong dance.

It was a fun day - Cora had extra audience too, so that's always nice.  Niky and Scott came and Grandma JeanAnn.  Always nice.

8th & 9th Grade Spring concert

Kayson's final 8th grade music concert was last night.  Always such a blessing to see him up there with friends he's made, and singing his heart out.  I love it.

2023 Dance Champs dance competition (#4)

We are getting through these regional dance comps!

#4 is in the books - Dance Champs.  Unfortunately, this weekend was a little unorganized, or a lot!  It's unfortunate, and makes for a very long day/weekend.  But as always, we fight through and move fast, and go on little sleep for a weekend!  :)

Cora and the kids did great as always, so proud of them.  I so love watching her on stage.  I would have to say that Production was the best yet - so flawless and perfection, and so much fun watching.

Always early mornings!

WEPA and Positoovity

Trish, Hope and Ed were able to see two of Cora's dances in person

8th Grade Track!

Kayson has been participating in 8th grade track!  He is not a fan, but he's doing it!!  Practices started a couple weeks ago - a lot of running, a lot of conditioning and just a lot of figuring things out for the kids, and the coaches.

1st meet Kayson ran in - NORWALK, April 6

Ran the open 200 and the 4x400 (anchor).  He seemed to have trouble with the 200, but his 400 was pretty good.

2nd meet Kayson ran in - URBANDALE, April 13

Kayson ran the Distant Medley (the 400 for that race) - and he did great!  He shaved 3 seconds off his last 400.  So proud of him.

2023 Easter Weekend

It was a great Easter weekend!

Friday - day off for me!  It was great, did some stuff around the house, had lunch with a new friend, and just enjoyed me time!!  Friday night we just hung out at home.

Saturday - we headed to Creston.  We had lunch with Grandma Janis, Joni, Jenna and Colby... super fun to see them.  Then we headed to the farm.  It was a gorgeous day (minus the wind!), but we enjoyed the fresh air, and as always, got to enjoy some cows!  We were able to see a calf be born (not too close), but it was born right then!  It was fun.  Cora just loves that stuff...  it's so interesting!

Sunday - we headed to Clarion.  We stopped to see mom, then had a great lunch at Tricia's.  Everyone was there, and it was a great day.  We had so much fun.  Aylah was a little blast too, so that's fun. She's got a fun little personality!

Westside Aces - LAST SEASON

We have officially started the last season for club ball - Westside Aces 14U baseball.

The team has been practicing since early January - but not on a field since last year.  Things were slow... things were rough...  but we are trying to stay positive!  We played in the Battle of the Borders tournament - where we are up against some really tough Nebraska teams (including Majors)... and it showed.  We were not prepared, and it was a struggle.

Regardless, it was fun to get back out there and watch some ball... and be with our baseball friends again.  I love those parents, and those kids...  we will make the best of this season!!
