Weekend

It's Sunday afternoon... it's quiet, it's cold out and I'm loving it.  Kayson's flag football game got cancelled due to some heavy rain we had this morning, but now he's at a little basketball practice outside with his new team.   Cora, Boomer and I are just relaxing...

Our weekend has been good...  very nice, and productive too.  Friday night, we had Scott, Niky and Duke over for pizza.  So fun seeing them... We sat and ate, drank, and talked for hours... so nice. Cora (and all of us) wished Britt could have been with us!

Saturday we hung out at home most of the day.  I was so productive with some organizing!  I organized the pantry, which was needed.  I can't say it's the best it can be, but it's so much better!  Cora and I also worked on her closet for the 100th time.  There's got to be a better way!!!  I literally hate that space.    Regardless, we tossed some things and organized.  It was a good project.

We also relaxed a little, so that was good.  Saturday late afternoon, the kids had a photo shoot with our friend Katie.  So fun, so easy.  I'm so thankful my kids are 'ok' with doing professional pictures... such a precious thing to have.

Saturday night we just stayed in...

and today - church, no flag football, dance, groceries, basketball, laundry, and a little cleaning.  It's a very Fall day, good day to just relax at home...

Kayson - Teeth Extraction #2

About two years ago, Kayson had some teeth pulled hoping that would be the last time... unfortunately, it wasn't.  Today, he got 3 teeth pulled again.

The other permanent teeth were just not moving enough and not giving enough space for Kayson... and for us to move forward with braces and whatever else.  So... it was needed.

Dr. Copley was able to pretty much 'pop' two of the teeth out, which was nice!  Then the last one, he had to work on a little...  but regardless, it's done.  K did great, and is feeling fine!!

Cora - Convention #1, Industry Xperience

Cora had her first convention with the Elite Edge team.  This one was held at the studio, so that's nice that it was close and kind of a 'taste tester' for her.  Saturday and Sunday afternoons, she was there from about 12:30 til 3:00.  Not too bad.  The older girls were there from 9 to 3!

Her group did jazz, lyrical, tap and hip hop.  Cora didn't say a ton, but she did say it was good.  She showed me a few 'moves' from lyrical, so that was fun.  Otherwise, it seemed like just another dance day.  I can't completely tell if she's loving it or just going with the flow...  #shrugshoulders!

Weekend

Another week has passed... and another weekend too.  Now that we are 'back to a little normalcy', things are busy... and the days are going fast.

Friday I took the day off... I've been meaning to take a day for just me.  I feel the past 6 months has just been a blur and now that the kids are back to school, I just felt I needed a day.  I ended up meeting Sarah for a little shopping day, as well as lunch, then Jen met up with us a little in the afternoon.  It was nice to hang with them a little...  and just have a 'free' day.

Friday night, Hud and Caleb stayed with us... Kayson has been complaining that now that they are in middle school, they don't really see each other very often. So...  Friday was a boys night.  They are such great kids...  and they had a great time.

Saturday we got up and started the day.  Ryan worked.  The boys played all morning.  Cora did well - played a little with the boys, then with Olivia.  I cleaned and got out my fall decorations.  It was a great morning, so much got done, and it was just a great day.

Saturday night we went out to church for a little gathering...  to get to know the interim pastor and just get some fresh air.  The turnout was small, but we had a nice time.  The kids worked hard at getting the campfire going, so they enjoyed that.

Sunday we had church outside, which was nice... a beautiful day.  Then Cora had dance, then Kayson started flag football.  Ryan and Jarren are coaching again, so that's fun... and most of our team is Aces baseball boys, which is even more fun.  It's fun for the boys... gives them something to do on a Sunday afternoon all while seeing their friends!  Win win.

Cora 8 Year old stats

Miss Cora had her easy 8 year old check up this morning...  simple, and done.

Stats are:

Weight: 69 lbs (84%)

Height: 4'4.5" (82%)

She's grown over 3 inches in a year, and the doctor was thrilled.  I love to hear that!

Long Labor Day weekend

Well, we are a short couple weeks in to school... so far so good.  However, Cora has picked up a cold.  GRR.  At first I thought it was just allergies, but I feel it's a cold now.  No fever, just snotty nose.  Of course, I'm sure others think she has COVID.  ugh.  She does not.

Anyway, school has been good.  It's been good for the kids to get into that routine, and see friends, and be away from home!!  Kayson's had a few small things for homework, but super easy...  and Cora seems to be enjoying it too.

I've missed them, but I have gotten so much done at home and for work...  Boomer is typically pretty chill when the kids are gone, so that's nice too!  He just lays around, but we still do our walks and play.

Anyway, we had a nice long weekend.  Kids didn't have school Friday or Monday.  I took Friday afternoon off, took lunch to Ryan, K & his friends hung out, Cora and I did a Target run, that's about it.

Saturday and Sunday we were down in Creston/Diagonal... at Grandma's farm.  The weather was great - a little warm at times, but it was nice to be there and just enjoy the outside and see everyone.  That 4-wheeler was used non stop, there was fishing, there was basketball, there was running.  Boomer absolutely loved it... we would take him out to the big grove area, and he ran and ran.  It was the best, and he was exhausted!
