9th Grade Golf wrap up!

Kayson and team have wrapped up their 9th grade golf season.  It seemed so fast!!
Kayson did well - not great, not terrible, just well!  He was definitely an average player, and that's ok!  He learned, he got frustrated, he did great, then did awful.  I'd say that's the game of golf!

Taylor wedding!

A Taylor wedding is the best wedding!

Matt and Lexi tied the knot this past Saturday afternoon.  We headed to KC Saturday morning - got there with plenty of time, then the rain started pouring down!!  But ended up being a gorgeous day/after the ceremony!  We arrived at the beautiful church... got dressed/freshened up, and the wedding was at 2pm.  Kayson (and Duke and Tate) were asked to be ushers at the wedding, so that was so nice.  They all looked amazing all cleaned up and enjoyed their 'part' in the wedding.  We then headed to the hotel - had a drink at the bar, then headed downtown KC to the venue for the reception.

It was a blast - great food, amazing music, and so much dancing and singing!  We had so much fun!!

Unfortunately, Cora and I did have to head back to DSM late Saturday night, as she had dance Sunday morning.  Definitely a 'con' with our studio, but it's what we've signed up for.  So Cora and I rolled home about 11:15pm...  got to bed, and Sunday came fast!

The ushers!

Kayson - Drivers Education

Drivers Ed started last night... Tuesday, September 19.

We have chosen to work with "Drive with Cops" - there is another option that we could have used, but it worked out with our schedule to use this option.  Kayson will have 6 weeks of learning - each week consists of:

Tuesday night - in class

Wednesday night - driving

Thursday night - in class

It was already a late night last night, so I felt bad.  We will need to make sure he is fed and has some snacks/drinks during class.  Regardless, I pray that it goes well, and Kayson learns a lot.  Driving is so important, and I just hope it goes well.

Cora - 11 year old well check

The 11 year old well check is a doozy... shots.  Lots of them.
Cora was nervous the second she woke up!  Darnit.
We headed to the appointment... she did well - she was nervous, but talked with Dr. Beebe as much as she normally would.  (Kayson is so much more talkative to doctors!)  Dr. Beebe talked with us about her diet - how she should be eating better - especially meat, so she's suggested Cora take a vitamin with Iron in it.  I will look into that.
Dr. Beebe also talked about Cora getting her period soon.  (This just makes me sad!!! - she is growing up so fast!)  Anyway, Dr. thinks Cora will probably get her period within the next year... or so...  We are prepared, as much as we can be for that.

Stats:
Weight: 98 lbs.
Height: 5'

She's grown about 3 inches... and about 9 pounds.  Growing, healthy girl.

The shots sucked.  Period. But Cora did great - yes, there were tears, but she did so well.
HPV - we will have a booster in about 6 months for that
Tetanus
Meningitis
Finger prick for cholesterol

Iowa Football - Kids, Papa & Dad!

Saturday was another Iowa football game... and Tate and Landry have been wanting to get over to Iowa City, see a game, see Brittlyn, all the things.  Ryan and Papa Mike set out Saturday morning with the big cousins.  Overall, I believe they had a great day - there was a weather delay, which I know that can be annoying, but the weather stayed just fine (no rain), so I'd call that a win.  The Hawks won too - and everyone got to see Britt!

Back to Dance! Season 20!

CESOD is in it's 20 years for Charlee!  That's very exciting.  :)
This week was the official "Back to Dance" week - competition has started, and Cora is enjoying the competition dances she's been assigned to.  More to come on that!

Sooo during the weeks, Cora will be taking the technique class, tumbling and Hip Hop... all the same from last year.  Something that's new is - she's now a helper in the Beginning Ballet class (3 & 4 year olds!)  How fun.  Well, she had her first night with them - and there was a crier!  ha.  I laughed, she laughed, and the teacher laughed.  So funny... so sweet and innocent!  Regardless, this will be great for Cora - I think this will help her be more comfortable with different adults, and just getting herself out there a little more.  I'm excited for her.

I pray it's another good season.
