#2 13U baseball tournament - CIS Tournament of Champions

Baseball in the hurricane winds!!  For the entire weekend!

Saturday was windy and warm and cloudy...  really weird day for weather - and ended up storming that night. Sunday was windy and chilly and sunny.  So weird!  And poor kids (and parents), but as always, kids are resilient and just fought through it all.

The Aces went 5-0 this weekend - winning the CIS Tournament of Champions for 13U.  What a great weekend for them... and fun watching!  I was able to watch Saturday's 2nd game... then Sunday we went to the first 2 games.  Cora, again, fighting the cold and SOOOO tired from her busyness - we headed home to watch the 3rd game/championship game at home.  I hated missing, but I guess I have to do what's best for my kids...

Plus it worked out - I didn't get as nervous just watching on the GameChanger app!  ha.  I hear Kayson did amazing at pitching... getting all the outs, and I couldn't be happier for him.  He is struggling at hitting (and getting on base), so this was what he needed - a 'good'.  So happy for him.

Buddies!!  Hud and Caleb!

Seems like he always gets hit by a pitch!

2022 Mark of Excellence dance competition

This weekend marked the last dance competition for the year!!  Next is Nationals!

Cora May danced Friday night and Saturday night... and I have to say - it was the longest couple days ever!!!  Cora has unfortunately been fighting a terrible cold - chest cold.  I actually told her if it's not better in a couple days, we'll go to the doc to get checked out.  (She's been sniffling and coughing hard for about 7 days now.)

Anyway, she danced her trio Friday night...  you could see it in all the girls' eyes - they were tired.  Friday nights are HARD!  But they did awesome, actually felt like it was one of their best!

We got home around 9:00 and got some rest.

Saturday we rested in the morning, then went to Kayson's 2nd baseball game.  She was less than thrilled, but it was important to me.  Then we headed to the venue...  we got there early so I could get her hair and make up done (actually, she does 90% of her makeup!)  Then we waited... always that "hurry up and wait" thing!!  The Petites did their Level Up, and Little Birds - and they were all great.  Very proud of them.

Then there was more waiting... unfortunately a storm rolled through and the internet went down - so there was an extra long wait... and I think it hit all the girls hard.  Cora was a mess - she actually rested her head on my shoulder for about 30 minutes, coughing and just wiped out.  I felt so bad... and just wanted to get her home.

Awards were at 10:00 pm.  TOO LATE for 9 year olds.  We fought through it, and she slept the entire way home...

So proud of her and how she handled everything.  Yes, she was crabby, but overall, she fought through it, and I'm glad that portion of competitions are over.  Nationals is next up, and we are looking forward to it!

Clap Snap - 2nd place, Platinum

Level Up - 1st place, Platinum

Little Birds - 1st place, Platinum

With our friend Zaylee!!

Cora loves SnapChat filters.  :)

Our Cora's - Lil A and Big T!

So tired, she could barely eat!!

Thank you Jess for taking this pic.

She perked up with some of the big girls - Ella and Braylin

Easter Weekend

I luckily had Friday off from work for Good Friday.  And I tell you what, it was exactly what I needed.  I needed a break from work, and just needed to get a few things done at home.  I was able to meet Colleen for lunch, which again, was much needed.  We hadn't seen each other in months...  miss her all the time.

Once the school day was over, I got Cora ready for a birthday party.  Kayson had already gone to a birthday party (straight from school).  (We don't see much of him!)  So Ryan and I had a free night - so we met Jess and Alexis for supper, and it was great.  Again, much needed to see them/catch up and just have a couple hours.

K stayed over with Caleb...  we got Cora from a friends... and finally home and chilled.  It was a good Friday.

Saturday we headed to Clarion for Easter.  Saturday was going to work best for everyone.  It was nice to see everyone and of course see Aylah.  She was a little fussy most of the day - my guess is she was over-stimulated and just held too much!  But it was a pretty good day...  we just made the day trip, and got home late Saturday night.

Sunday we went to church.  WHAT?!?  We haven't been for a very long time, and it's sad.  Our kids schedules just don't allow us to, and I've always wished there would be no sports on Sunday mornings.  But there is...  Anyway, Mike and JeanAnn joined us at church which was nice...  then back to our house to eat a yummy lunch and just hang out.

We enjoyed the free Sunday...  I got some laundry done and also relaxed.

2022 Dance Champs dance competition

A full weekend of dance --- Dance Champs ran Friday through Sunday.  Thankfully we just did Saturday and Sunday - but they were both very early mornings for Cora and me!!  We are not morning people!  :)

But we did it and did well.

Saturday - Cora danced her tap trio.  They did well (Star Platinum), but no placement.

Sunday - Little Birds and Level Up did their thing, both getting Star Platinum.  Honestly, they both were amazing - soooo good, and seemed to really get the audience, which is always fun.

Level Up got Judges Choice award, and then 3rd place overall.

#1 13U Aces tournament

The Battle of the Borders invited the Aces this year to attend their tournament... always a good experience for the boys... to get the cob-webs out and just get back into it.  Unfortunately, Cora had a dance competition, so I was unable to go.  I was so bummed.

BUT - thankful for a few moms to get some pictures of my kiddo.

From what I hear, Kayson did well - pretty darn good at pitching, which is always nice.  He struggled to hit again...  which can be frustrating.

But overall, the Aces went 2-2 this weekend...  so not too bad.
