Weekend

Sunday afternoon already...  I'm sitting though, and it's amazing.  I actually just took a 20 minute nap.  BOOM!

So our week was fine...  crazy tons of snow Monday and Tuesday - so the kids were home quite a bit.  Annoying!  ha.  So with all that snow, Ryan's work trip was delayed a little, but ended up being gone Wednesday through Friday night.  He unfortunately returned with a virus/bug...

Anyway, so with that...  it was a quiet weekend.  Saturday morning we just chilled - I cleaned some, and prayed no one else got what Ryan had.  He pretty much quarantined in the bedroom.

Saturday afternoon Kayson had a basketball tournament, so Cora and I were out of the house for about 6 hours...  we had a good afternoon together, but K's basketball team did not have a good afternoon.  They struggled, just didn't do well.  It's disappointing, and frustrating...  Kayson tries hard, all the boys do, but they just can't get over the 'hump'.  So it was a long afternoon, unfortunately.

Saturday night we just stayed in and relaxed...  Ryan continued to sleep most of the day and night...

Sunday we woke - a new day.  We had a good Sunday School class, and Ryan was feeling better!  The kids played outside a little...  I did laundry... took that 20 minute nap!... and just didn't do much else.  I have errands to run, but I just don't want to!

So it was a nice weekend...  again, hate that it's over so fast.

Weekend/One Year Older

Another weekend has passed... man, days just fly by anymore, and we don't even have much going on!  I can't imagine how we will feel when we have more activities, etc.

Anyway, our weekend was good... we did keep busy, but it was fun.

Friday night:

Kayson finally had his little 'birthday' party - had his two besties over, Caleb and Hudsen.  They just hung out, played video games and giggled.  It was fun having them here.  They are good kids.  Kayson was so happy having them here, so that's all that matters.

While they were at our house, Cora had her first dance rehearsal for competition - full makeup, hair and costume!  It was a little stressful, only because it was our first, and I just never know what to expect, but it went really well.  The mom's were able to come into the studio and help a little, so that was nice.  We got to see all the girls and boys ready to go, and they were excited.

Saturday:

Those silly boys were up early, like 6am.  YUK!!!  The rest of us slept in, so that was nice!  Cora, again, had another round of rehearsal.  So we did that...  and again, went well.  It was fun seeing them all dolled up.  I actually just sat in the parking lot with a few other moms, and chatted with them.  Fun to hang out with them... nice people.

Meanwhile, the boys headed home, and the rest of our Saturday was pretty low key.  We got a little bored, but it was ok.  Kayson ended up being tired, so he rested a little...  which was funny, and also realizing that he's a full tween, and gets crabby when he's tired!  ha.

Sunday:

Another trip around the sun for me...  I'm officially 43 now.  Wow.  I had a nice day... got several texts and phone calls, and just enjoyed the day.  We had church, and I taught Sunday School...  Cora had dance again...  K went to Hud's for a little bit... K had baseball practice... and that was our day.  It was nice.

Weekend/Catch-Up

Well, getting caught up on the blog.  Honestly, not much going on here, but we are still healthy - K is fine (and finally will go back to school this week!).  I am so ready for some normal... although, I know I don't know what 'normal' is anymore.  But it would be nice to not have to worry if we are going to get COVID from people around us, or just get together with people and not have to worry, or would be nice to not have to wear a mask everywhere.  Ya know, just normal.

Anyway, our weekend was fine...

Sunday morning we took the kids to a big hill to sled.  I think they had fun!

Monday (today) is a holiday, so no work for me, no school for the kids.  We hung out, took Boomer to the dog park, kids played outside for awhile, and then just hung out some more.  It was a nice day off...

COVID Exposure Update

Kayson is over a week 'in' to his exposure... all is good still.  No symptoms, thankfully.

This exposure time is frustrating.  The middle school kids do not get much guidance when they are exposed/quarantined.  There are no google meets, nothing. I find that very frustrating, and just one more week of getting behind.  Kayson did not have enough to do, at all.  Thankfully he's a good student, and did the few things that he needed to, but then by 9:30 or 10:00, he was done.  Nothing else to do.

I found it very hard to keep him engaged in something... whether it was reading or just even hanging with me for an hour.  He just wants to sit and be on electronics.  So tough.

Regardless, we are almost done with quarantine...  he is technically done Friday, the 15th, but won't go back to school til Wednesday, the 20th (18th is MLK Day, off, and 19th is a teacher work day, off).  UGH!!!  SO MUCH TIME TOGETHER!!  ha.

COVID Exposure

Well it's Kayson's turn to be exposed to COVID.  :(

We got the call Thursday night (January 7).  He was exposed at lunch time, by one of his friends.  Super disappointing.

So he's home again...  and unfortunately, when you are quarantined, the school day is much different then when you are considered 'online'.  He does not have Google Meets, he basically is on his own for learning and reading what they are working on.  It's super frustrating, and again, disappointing.  I just don't understand it.

Day 1, and he's already cried.  Awesome.

I thought 2021 would start a little better.

Winter Break

The kids got out of school the week of Christmas --- only went to school Monday and Tuesday.  Short week.
They were very excited to have a 'break', although I kind of feel it's been a break just lately...  super laxed at school and just not very serious.  Maybe after the official break, they'll start working harder!  ha.

We have enjoyed the break.  I took some time off...  although, with me being at home (working), I still check emails and our queue.  I get it, but regardless, it's been nice having to sit all day at the computer.

We have drove each other crazy, which is not abnormal!  But we've enjoyed it too...

We got hit with snow Tuesday after Christmas, so that was fun...  we went nowhere, but were able to get outside and play in the snow.  The kids loved it, and so does Boomer.  I sure wish he would stay close tho!!  That pup likes to run.

Tricia and the girls stopped by one day to visit for a couple hours, so that was fun...  broke up the day a little.

We rearranged Cora's room and cleaned it up a little, again - good project.

The kids and I went to Glazed Expressions one morning.  That's always fun, but realized Kayson really gets irritated.  He's a perfectionist, and doesn't appreciate 'messing up'.  haha.  I don't either.  But it was a good memory!
