Weekend update

It's Monday already...  our roller coaster of a weekend is over and we've already started the week.  UGH!

Friday evening we stayed in...  Ryan wasn't feeling 100% (guessing he got the little bug that I had on Wednesday), as I stayed home from work not feeling well - slept literally all day long.  By Saturday morning, he felt much better...  so we packed up and drove the 3 hours to Blair and Martina's.  The kiddos did ok on the ride...  Cora was our typical chatterbox, and had a couple meltdowns as well.  So typical.  Kayson did great as always, so thankful.

We arrived... and the kids didn't miss a beat. They were nonstop from 11am til 9pm that night!  We celebrated Landry's 1st birthday - with a great lunch, cupcakes, gifts and fun.  Landry is really growing and just showing her personality, a little doll for sure.  I loved being there.  The kids had a great time - a few moments of being ornery and sick of each other, but again, typical.  We got them to bed at a decent time...

We were up early Sunday... wish that wouldn't have happened!!  The kids played a little... but Kayson was complaining of being really tired and just wanted quiet time.  He played the iPad for quite a long time actually.  He did eat breakfast, but wasn't interested in lunch...  he actually cried and just kept saying he was so tired.  We packed up and got on the road around 1:30...

Within minutes - both kids were asleep, and I thought - "Perfect!  They both needed their rest, we'll be good."  Man, was I wrong!!!  30 minutes later - Kayson puked all over.  All over.  New car smell - is no more.  :(  I've never felt so terrible in my life!!!!  We were in the middle of nowhere (it seemed) - we pulled over... got him out and cleaned off as much as we could... he puked a little more...  and just kept saying he was so tired.  Ryan was amazing with him... as I tried to clean things up, and keep things calm.  (in my mind and heart, I was aching and overwhelmed).  His seat on his carseat was soaked in puke...  he clothes too (we got him changed and wiped off).  We had nothing to wipe things up with - only 4 wipes of Cora's - we used dirty clothes to clean things up.  It was such a mess.

We got back in the puke smelling car...  he snoozed for about 10 minutes...  looking so very pale and just worn out...  we got to another exit and got to an actual gas station.  We picked up wipes, soap and water to clean stuff out, got an air freshener and a few other things.  Kayson started to get some color back to him by then, but was still not ok.

Back on the road - Cora did sleep most of the way home, which was super (but I was a nervous wreck that she was (and is still) going to get this terrible bug).  Kayson snoozed some more... and we made it home.  I had never been so happy to be home in my life!!!!!   By then, 2 hours later, Kayson definitely had color back to him, and had pep in his step.  It was crazy!!!    But he also knew he needed to take it easy.  Poor kid, but so smart too.

Ryan worked on the car - cleaning, shampooing carpet, wiping EVERYTHING down.  I worked on everything else - washed literally everything that was in the car, everything that was in Blair's house, everything we had on at that moment.  Bags, clothes, blankets, disinfected everything in sight.  I'm praying to God that this at least helps... and praying that Cora does NOT GET THIS!!!!!!

4 hours later... things were at least mostly cleaned up.  Thank God the kids were still tired and ok with just 'hanging out' and watching cartoons and reading, etc.  Ryan and I worked our butts off to get things back to normal.

Kayson wanted some crackers around 6:30...  he ate those with a big glass of water, then he wanted a grilled cheese sandwich.  He ate that too.  Still looking better and acting much better too.  Cora ate a little bit, but wasn't too interested, so of course, I was still nervous she's going to be sick.  So we just watched her...  got their baths done, and they were in bed around 8:15/8:30.  And they slept.

What a day!!!
It's amazing how one small moment can just change everything...  we had had such a nice time with the family.  And now all I can think about is - we've potentially infected 10 other people!  Oh my heart hurts and have severe anxiety that they are all going to get sick because of US.

So...  I'm sure there will be more to come, but here are some wonderful pictures of memories from our good day with family.

Happy 1st Birthday Lanny girl!!
The girls...  didn't miss a beat.
