Friday morning the vet called with the results of Quincy's blood work.
His liver potentially is having some issues... Which is just related to his protein being super low (because he's not eating), and his white blood count is high which means he has an infection. Vet believes the infection is in his mouth (bad teeth/gums), which again could all circle back to why he's not eating. Soooo.... Vet got us a liquid antibiotic in hopes to knock out the infection and see some improvement with Quincy's appetite and mood. His first dosage was Friday night... It's now Sunday - I see a little improvement in mood (seems a tad perkier), but he's still not eating. Or at least not the canned food. He'll do sliced cheese or a piece of Bologna... But... Still.
So, we wait. The vet and I will touch base early this week and get a game plan. I'm nervous, and don't know what's best here...
