Weekend Wrapup

Friday:
I left work early Friday... met Lacey for lunch, a much needed "Lacey and Janelle" time.  She's one of my best friends... we talk nearly daily, however, we really only see each other at my hair appointments.  That needs to change.  So we made a lunch date. And it was great.  We then swung over to see our friend Colleen and new baby Bo.  A quick visit, then we were on our way.

Friday evening we had Ryan's work holiday party.  Ryan's parents stayed with the kiddos.  The party was at Cowboy Jack's.  We had the room upstairs...  and we just mingled for several hours, it was a nice time.  Following, some of us went out to the casino.  This is NOT normal for us, but we felt like we should go...  unfortunately, my allergies were terrible... and the smoke didn't help the situation, so we didn't stay long.  But I guess long enough to loose some money.  Seriously - gambling is dumb.  :)

Saturday:
We slept in... just a little, and just hung out a little bit.  Ryan's parents had stayed the night, so they could be with the kids again on Saturday.  Ryan and I had a planned day of Christmas shopping.  We headed out around 10, and were home by 2.  Not too bad.  We got a lot knocked off the list.

Saturday evening we all packed up and drove over to Pella to watch Ryan's cousin, Colby, play basketball... he plays at Central College, and does a great job.  It was a lot of fun to watch him, and I know Kayson liked it.  Plus Duke went too - those two have so much fun together.  A late supper was had, then headed home...  we were ALL tired!

Sunday:
We slept in again... this time more than Saturday!  It was nice...  but we then kinda had to hustle along.  Today we drove up to Clarion for a super quick trip.  My parent's 50th wedding anniversary was a couple weeks ago... and we scheduled family pictures for our parents.  All of us.  Even Mom and Dad.  And it was great... it was fast, but I stopped for a second and was truly amazed and blessed.  50 years - and to see what my parents have, it's awesome.  It bittersweet with how my Mom is...  knowing all of that will continue to go downhill, but today was good - a good memory.

We had a quick lunch with everyone... then we were back on the road.  Quick trip, like I said.  The kids slept on the way home... and I believe I snoozed a little too!  The rest of our afternoon and evening was laundry.  That's it.  That's all I had energy for!  The kids were wiped out... and rather naughty, so they were in bed early.

It was a great weekend...  busy, but great.  Thanks to Ryan's parents for being our sitters for a long time!
