CHS event and Weekend

Again, can't believe it's Monday already... and Monday afternoon actually.

Last week was a blur...  always a busy week, but we ended the week getting away for about 24 hours.  Ryan's work had their annual CHS event - I like to call it - the "schmoozing their clients gathering".  :)  I attended this year...  quick trip up to MN...  event was from 3 to 7 and then we eat out... and wrap up the evening.  It was a very nice time... I enjoyed myself - was nice to sit and visit with a few of the wives...  and just get away for a minute.

It was a quick trip, and we were home Friday around lunch time.  I was pooped - so I hung out at home, and took a nap!  Ryan went to work, of course!

Then was the start of our busy weekend...

Friday night:
Cora and I went downtown to Wells Fargo to watch the Waukee Dance Team (and Brittlyn) perform at the "Iowa State Drill/Dance championship"... and man, it was fun!  After finally finding Niky and family, we got our seats and enjoyed the show.  Cora got a little antsy a few times, but overall she enjoyed herself and liked watching all the girls.  It was a fun little Mom/Daughter date.  :)

While we were there, Ryan and K went up to Ames to help out with a big fundraiser for the Westside Aces.

A late night for all of us.

Saturday:
The kids and I did a few errands, some Christmas shopping, then honestly just hung out at home while Ryan worked at the church.  I got loads and loads of laundry done - I believe there was a total of 7!  Yikes.   Ryan and K went back up to Ames for a bit to help with the fundraiser... Cora and I just hung out.  She got tired and crabby...  so we just watched TV.  Pretty boring late afternoon.

Then pizza was ordered, and we just relaxed.  It was a nice day... especially needed to just be home.

Sunday:
BUSY DAY!
We started our day at church - with the youth Christmas program.  It's funny that when we practice, things get ugly and you just never know how the real thing will land... well - it always comes together!  The program was perfect... the kids did awesome and the congregation loved it!!  Mike, JeanAnn and Grandma Janis joined us, which was fun... nice for them to come.  I totally should have gotten a picture of the kids with them.  Ooops.

Then we grabbed a quick lunch back at the house... then we were off to watch Brittlyn in the Nutcracker at the Civic Center.  She was an amazing Snow Queen... pure perfection!  Man, I'm so proud of her... and she's just a cousin through marriage!!  I can't imagine how Niky and Scott feel.  Wow.  She's just so talented, and was a great show!  It was a nice afternoon -- kind of starting off our holiday season.

Then soon enough it was bedtime, and now here we are.  Man the weekends go fast.
