Ryan and Kayson headed to Pella (tournament was in Oskaloosa), but hotel was in Pella... they headed out Friday night. Cora and I stayed home... there was no reason to stay in a hotel two nights if we didn't have to. You know me and hotels... yuk.
The boys hung out with other Dads and kids... and had a good evening.
Cora and I hung out... she was exhausted from her first week of summer program, so we just took it easy, and she asked to go to bed at 7:50. Done!
Saturday morning we got up and headed to Osky. The day was beautiful - we've been super lucky the last couple weekends! Starting to really feel like summer, and we are all getting sun and tans!
The Aces went 2-0 for Saturday morning, which was great... fun to have good games to start us off. We then went out for a late lunch... and had a good time. Once back to the hotel - it was pool time. The kids did well, fun for them. Eventually we had to kick them out, and settle down... but overall it was a decent afternoon/evening.
Cora started to show her attitude and melting down about 6:30... so I soon took care of her and got her to bed...
We had an ok night's sleep - I guess the kids slept well, slept through Ryan's snoring... I, however, saw every hour. Terrible.
Sunday - we ended up with a #1 seed in our bracket, which was awesome, however... that meant we didn't play until 3:00. Oh my gosh. That's a long ass time to keep these kids happy and busy... and not exhausted. I think all of us parents kind of wished we would have gone home Saturday night and just drove back Sunday... but oh well.
We grabbed lunch, then headed back to Osky... kept the kids in the shade and watched a game. Then it was our turn... first game was great. We had amazing defense, and won... then the championship game was bad... we just lost steam and were tired, in my opinion. We struggle on late games and when we've been busy/traveling. It was pretty ugly.
So... we walked away as runner-ups, and that's ok. The kids did well.
What a busy weekend... home around 7:30 Sunday night. I didn't take too many pictures this weekend...
On our way home, we had a potty break and stumbled across this giant buffalo. Hilarious. Cora wanted a picture.
