Year #3 of having the Hardy gang down to celebrate the 4th. By far the best tradition we've made.
Kiddos slept in great, which was huge, since I knew it would be a busy day. Ryan and I got the last minute things all set up and ready... and everyone arrived between 11 and 11:45. It was a HOT day to start off with... so we tried to make as much shade as possible outside. We did the bags tourny again, which was fun... Ash and Hope were the winners this year. We got the sprinklers out and water balloons out for my kids... and just sat around chatting.
I did end up putting Cora down for a rest as she was a bear by noon... as much as she fought me, she slept nearly 2 hours. ha. That little girl!!
Around 3:00 the weather turned on us... dark clouds rolled in, and we soon had a rain storm come through. We got everything picked up outside before it all it... as it did get pretty windy! So we all came inside - PS4 was played, a couple board games were played... and just some quiet time too.
Eventually the rain blew away... and ended up being beautiful again! We then mingled outside in the front of the house - some basketball was played, and LOTS of fireworks were let off. Thanks to Ryan!! That was a hit. Sparklers too for the littles.
We just always have a good time... lots of memories, and super glad Dad was with us too.
And to top the evening off... we let the kids stay up and watch fireworks. We may be feeling it today - at least I am!!!! But Cora was begging to see the fireworks. So she stayed up til about 10:10 - watching some of them in our neighborhood... and then Kayson was up with Dad (and a few neighbors) til about 10:20 watching Des Moines Golf's show. He loved it.
