Friday evening, Ryan got home late from Minnesota... later than he had planned. We stayed in... got to bed early, which was all nice.
Saturday I had an early hair cut appointment... which I thoroughly enjoyed 45 minutes by myself and with my best friend. Meanwhile, Ryan and the kids started the day... Ryan mowed, and the kids played. Once I was home, we did more of this and that... and some cleaning.
Saturday around lunch time, we met up with Ryan's parents, Blair's and then Jimmy & Diana were in town for a visit. Always fun to see them. We (somewhat) enjoyed lunch... Kayson had a meltdown - over wanting another Root Beer. Yep. Awesome. This is another post, but in a nutshell - Kayson's been having a very hard time when we have people around/over. We aren't sure what the trigger is, but he instantly becomes disobedient, disrespectful and naughty. It's frustrating, and very embarrassing. Ryan and I want our kids to be respectful and pleasant in public... and we are failing tremendously lately.
Moving on... once that meltdown was over... back to our house. Cora needed a rest, and Kayson just had some quiet time, which again - he needs it/wants it. Later on that afternoon, we went to the hotel where they were all staying so the kids could enjoy the pool. And they did. Man, they had fun. Jimmy and Papa Mike played with the kids... and they had a great time. Very fun for them.
Saturday evening, we had them all to our house and we just ordered pizza in. It worked out perfectly, and we got some good chats in with Jimmy and Diana. It was a good evening.
Today we got up and went to church, then met everyone up for lunch again (minus Jimmy & Diana). The kids did a little better at lunch today, which was nice... then we just went back home. We had a quiet couple of hours, then once again - busy.
Ryan headed out for Denver (flew out this afternoon)... and the kids and I went back out to church for their 'Family Fun Fair'. It's basically a couple hours of fellowship, a little worship, games, face painting, tours of a firetruck and ambulance, cupcakes and lemonade. We had a small downpour of rain mid way through, but we just moved inside without a beat. We had a really good time... the kids were darn good for me. Thankfully.
And now... it's quiet. I'm absolutely exhausted, have a terrible headache, but I really wanted to get pictures on the blog. Murphy and I are going to snuggle... and I guarantee, my eyes will be closed in minutes. :)
