CESOD participated in the Legacy dance nationals this year - in Wisconsin Dells, at the Wilderness Resort.
We headed out of town Sunday late morning... arriving to the Dells around supper time. We got checked in and just hung out Sunday night.
Monday: Clap Snap danced. They did well, but unfortunately didn't place. Monday afternoon, we swam. There is so much to do there at the resort, so we just hit up one of the water parks.
Tuesday: A free day - so more swimming. Kayson and Ian really hit it off and were off doing their own thing most of the day. Cora hung with her little girlfriends and some of the bigger girls... she just loved it. Some of the parents hung out together, and just had a really good day.
Tuesday evening, we all went out for supper at a near by restaurant. You would think a party of over 120 would be crazy... but the restaurant handled it great. It went well.
Wednesday: Little Birds and Level Up danced. Little Birds nailed their dance... probably the best they've done all year! So fun to watch!
Awards were -
Little Birds: Great Concept Judge's award, Platinum and 1st overall in the mini competitive large group! It was SOOOO exciting! Plus they were chosen to perform at the Showdown!
Level Up: Energizer Bunny Judge's award, Platinum and 5th overall in the mini competitive large group! So fun!
Ryan and K headed home Wednesday after the dances...
Thursday: A free day... and a couple cabana's were 'rented', and that was super great to have one spot where we could all be. Another hot day in the sun... We did take a break and watched some of the senior dances, but again, more swimming later in the day! Just so busy, but also good too. It was an okay balance.
Friday: Unfortunately, we had to check out of our room at 11:00... so we got all packed up (so much stuff!) and walked around a little outlet mall nearby, then back to the resort to get ready for the Showdown! A lot of waiting around... we didn't dance until late Friday afternoon... and then had to wait til about 6:00 for awards. Results --- Little Birds received 3rd place!!! Such a successful week!!!
We got on the road right about 6:45... rolling into the house around 11:45 pm. I had a tired girl, but a girl that also did really well. I was pretty happy with her!
Overall, our week was great. We had lots of time with our friends... I got to know a few more moms, and just really enjoyed the time we had. I didn't feel too rushed, and felt like we had enough downtime too. Cora did great - no meltdowns, and had so much fun with her friends. She's seems to be growing up a little! :)
