Saturday morning we got up and headed to Grandma Janis' farm. Everyone was there, including Great Grandma Ann, so that was great. We spent all day there - eating, playing inside, playing outside in the SUPER STRONG wind, back inside, etc. It was a great little day. So much fresh air. The kiddos did pretty well... Kayson was in heaven with Duke there. All the kids (boys mainly) played ball - basketball and baseball, lots of 4-wheeler rides, tractor rides and just farm stuff.
Cora and Lanny were in the mix most of the time... but they were kind of 'hot messes' by mid-afternoon. SO TIRED. Neither of them rested, which is just super hard when we are there with everyone... But we all survived!
We got our kiddos to bed at a decent time... and then just hung out and visited at Ryan's folks. It was a nice day.
This morning we attended church in Creston. Kids were good, and looked adorable to top it off. The church service was very nice. We sang "In the Garden", which was one of the songs at Mom's funeral. Tears just fell and fell. I held Ryan's hand and just lost my breath a couple times. She was there... she was with us. I felt her. I miss her so much.
Then the rest of the day was just hanging out. JeanAnn made a great little brunch for us, and then the kids played outside. It was a beautiful day (not as windy!!) Unfortunately, the kids were pretty owly - well, especially Cora and Landry. Man they fight like cats and dogs sometimes!!! Someday they won't! We headed back to DSM around 3ish...
It was a nice weekend. I had Friday off from work, so the 3 day weekend (as always) went super fast.
