We've had a busy Labor Day weekend... definitely nice having the three day weekend.
Let's see... Saturday was the first Iowa football game, so Ryan and Mike headed over to Iowa City. The kids and I, and JeanAnn hung out back here. Saturday morning, Kayson had his first birthday party to go to - one of his school friends, Izzy, was having a party at Pump It Up. Oh man, they had fun... We had never been there before, so it was great to see how it works (keeping it in mind for future parties!)... and even got to get to know some of the other parents, so that was nice. (I had planned to leave him and go do a few errands, but within 5 minutes he had gotten bonked in the cheek (lots of tears), so I decided to stay...). It worked out.
The kids had naps, I did too... while JeanAnn did a few errands. That evening, after the guys got home, the grown-ups met up with some other Taylor family members for a birthday party celebration. Ryan's Aunt Niky was turning 40 and they were going out! We decided to surprise her and have a few drinks with them... she was thrilled to have us there, so it was worth it. Jenna stayed with the kids, so that was nice.
Sunday we hung out at home... enjoyed the weather a little, and just were kind of lazy. I was able to get some shopping done for myself that afternoon, which was awesome. :) Then Sunday night we met up with my family in Ames to have dinner out for my Dad's birthday.
And today we celebrated as we always do - in Diagonal for the Labor Day parade, and Great Grandma Ann's birthday - a whopping 97 today! :) She's doing super well... and was able to enjoy seeing all of us. We all enjoyed the wonderful weather out at the farm (no 100 degrees!)... great food, and the kids (and adults) always have such a great time. We didn't stay long, as Ryan has to travel to MN tonight. Bummer for us.
It's been a nice weekend... of course, it went super DUPER fast... but hopefully the 4 day work week will go fast as well.
Enjoy the pictures from today.
