For just a little over 3 months - we are seeing some huge improvements in K's teeth!!

The teeth are coming together, and are aligned/straight!! I'm just so impressed!
Saturday was a full day of dance and being away from home. I'm learning that even if Cora is done dancing in the morning, she wants to stay all day. I appreciate that - love that she loves being there with her friends and helping out, but man - it wears on this Mom!! I was soooo exhausted! I'm realizing that I need to eat and drink more when I'm at a competition all day. I get such a terrible headache! Which stinks!
Anyway, we were up SOOO early Saturday... Cora did awesome. She did 90% of her makeup while I did her hair... and we were out the door! Her three dances were pretty much back to back first thing - so it was a hustle to get them changed and ready for the next one! But they all did great! It was fun watching them!!

After awards, we did step out and get some lunch which was much needed... then we went back to the venue. Cora hung out in the dressing room with the big girls... she was in her element - helping with hair and laying out costumes. Oh my goodness, it warmed my heart that she's comfortable enough to be back there and help out. I hope those big girls know how much she loves them!

Once again, no traveling here. Part of me is mad about it, but then the rest of me is like - we don't sleep well away from home, and we are just "homebody's"... so home we stayed.
Ryan had to travel a little for work, I worked Monday and Tuesday - and the kids did pretty well. Monday, Kayson kept busy with some buddies. Tuesday, JeanAnn came and hung out with them - they shopped, and went to a movie. I think they had a good time.
The rest of the week I was off work, and it was great. I needed it... and I didn't check emails at all. Anyway, Wednesday we went and visited Hope and Logan and Aylah! It was a great couple hours... I even made her cry! hah. Cora loved on her, and we just visited for a little bit. Then Kayson hung with friends again... and Cora played outside.
Thursday, we met up with Michelle, Cora and Ian - hit up SkyZone for the kids and then an arcade/Laser Tag place. The kids had fun.
Friday was a quiet day at home... it rained and just was gloomy. But we all needed just a day to chill.
The rest of the weekend was watching March Madness and just hanging out. We got outside quite a bit, did a little shopping, Cora cleaned a lot (when she gets bored)!, and just enjoyed the weekend.
Cora's winter/spring conference was this week... always fun to talk with Mrs. Flack. She's been a part of our lives for a long time, and we really enjoy her.
In a nut shell - Cora is doing well! Mrs. Flack expressed that Cora struggled with math at the beginning of the year, and felt Cora was not happy doing math -- and that has changed a lot over the past couple months! Great to hear. Mrs. Flack said Cora slows down and doesn't get as frustrated as she used to - and she's doing amazing. She's passing all her facts right now!

MATH - WINTER: 213 (which is 4th grade, but 4th grade isn't tested)
She's doing great, and we are super proud of her!!
I was super impressed with her hand writing too! She's always been super great at drawing, but her hand writing has really improved!
I have a GREAT Niece, literally! Hope and Logan had their first baby girl Monday afternoon, March 7. I couldn't be more thrilled and so proud of Hope and just excited to have a baby in the family!
Dance is our life now.
Saturday, we headed to Franklin Jr. High Event Center late morning to start our day of dance. We were able to watch some great dances and some not so great. ha. It's been interesting learning what's good and what's not...
Anyway, our girls were great, as usual. Cora's group did awesome too - here are the results:
Level Up - Platinum, 2nd place overall
Little Birds - Platinum, 1st place overall
Clap Snap - Platinum, 2nd place overall
Super fun day... and super exhausting too!
Sunday, we were invited to dance at the Waukee NorthWest High School Dance Team Spring Showcase. That's a mouthful. So we got there Sunday late afternoon... watched some amazing performances by the dance team and ISU Dance team. Super fun. Hated it was on a Sunday night, but we survived!

Kayson was lucky enough to be invited into the 7th Grade Honor Choir showcase. The kids (along with 8th graders) have been working on the pieces for about a month or so. Last night was the official showcase. We travelled to Newton (which I still think it weird) - seeing several different schools collaborate with 6 pieces. The boys sang, the girls sang, then they all sang together. It was pretty amazing!!
