Kayson is at the stage where he copy's almost everything Ryan and I do... One thing is this popping thing with his mouth. I personally can barely do it, and think it's hilarious that Kayson tries! We caught it on video!

Pink Eye
We almost made it 3 weeks without illness around here... and now Kayson has pink eye!!!! All I have to say is there are so many pros and so many cons to having him in a daycare center! He gets to learn so much, play with so many kids and have time away from Momma & Dadda (all good)... and then the bad is getting every single illness known!!!! That's hard!
His eyes are all goopy and matted... and red. We have some ointment that should help fast... We need to keep him home from daycare, so I'll be staying home with him tomorrow. I should have gotten a picture of his poor eyes... we'll see what they look like tomorrow.
Everyone - WASH YOUR HANDS!! ;)

16 Months: Growing
Happy 16 month birthday to Kayson today!! His treat for the day - ice cream from Dairy Queen. He liked it! ;)
The term I'm going to use for Kayson now is 'Growing'. He's growing up so fast... and we have proof. When he was 14 months old, we finally figured we should chart his growth... we found a spot in the basement to mark his height and it's perfect. As you can see he's grown a little less than 2 inches in 2 months. That's so awesome... what a big boy. He's walking everywhere (no more crawling at all)... and each day he gets faster and faster!

Just a lot of nothin!
- Today is FRIDAY. Whoohoo!
- I'm even leaving early today from work to do some random things... all by myself.
- We are getting rain - another whoohoo. Our grass needs the rain bad!
- A big shout out to our friends who just saw their first ultrasound of their baby! What an amazing feeling for them (and the people in their lives) - as this was a long haul for them!
- One of things I'm going to do this afternoon is shop... just a little. I need some summer tops!
- My hair grows so darn fast! I gotta wait another 3 weeks... 3 weeks?!?!
- I love Jimmy John's - I may get that for lunch!
- I hope everyone has a nice weekend. I'm looking forward to another weekend of being home with my little family!

Adult Friends & Little Friends
This afternoon Jamie, Travis & Braley Miller came to visit... we had a WONDERFUL time. We played outside (well, the boys played and us adults watched and laughed at them). Here are a couple pictures of the two of them. (They are about 2 months apart in age).

The Miller's needed a few new shots of the family and Braley - and we decided to throw Kayson into the mix. Braley is SUCH A HAM - Kayson isn't quite sure what to think! :)
And another quick item - today is Blair & Martina's 1st Year Wedding Anniversary. We had brunch with them this morning... I hope they had a wonderful day today celebrating their love. May they be blessed with many more blessed years to come.

Just the way I like it.
The Taylor's had a great day... great weather... great company (just the 3 of us!)... productive... it was great! This morning we were up bright and early (6:15) - darnit! We started the day - did some errands this morning. We hit the mall - it wasn't busy, so that was SUPER nice! We ate lunch at my favorite - Panera Bread. Yum yum. Then home... Kayson took a great nap this afternoon while Ryan and I washed both vehicles and did other stuff around the house, including laundry, watering the lawn, putting up the garage door opener thingie (keypad thing) and cleaned a little. After nap and snack, we played outside for about an hour... and fought to come back in! I'm noticing now that I got a little sun - my cheeks are red and my neck is too! Ryan made a great dinner - pork loins and fried potatoes (Yum yum again) and then we relaxed by watching the movie "The BlindSide". Excellent movie. A feel good movie. I love those kind!
I'm tired now... Off to bed!

Expectations... and Blah
Have you ever been just plain disappointed in someone or something? I guess that's a silly question - because if you haven't ever been, then I want your life! ha. Sometimes disappointment comes over me and I try to darndest to 'get over it' and have it not ruin my day.
According to Websters Dictionary, Disappointed means: defeated in expectation or hope
So now that I have read that meaning, maybe I just write this all up to expecting too much. Do I expect too much of others around me or of life in general? I've never said I was a perfect person, by a LONG shot, but I feel like I really try to make others happy and put others first... I expect for others to do the same thing.
-----------
Moving on... not much has been going on with us over the past week. Which isn't a bad thing! We've had some great weather to enjoy. Kayson really, REALLY likes being outside... I've said before, we will probably have some 'fights'... and they've already started. The second we get home, Kayson wants to be outside. But I need to put my bags down first, get the dogs, change my clothes and THEN we can go outside - but those 5 minutes or so are just brutal for Kayson! ha. Stinker. I'm looking forward to the weekend!!

New & Fun Things
It seems like a lot of new things have been happening with Kayson over the past week. Besides really getting walking down... he's really starting to feed himself with the fork and spoon. He's been attempting it for months, but it seems like it's really going well... when he actually eats!! ha. (We still have days where he won't eat anything, but lately, he's been eating a lot).
Using the fork so well. (with that left hand!)
Another new thing --- and now will be a fun thing for the spring & summer... Kayson LOVES LOVES LOVES to be outside. I'm sure we'll have lots of fights this summer when it's time to come in... he won't like that!
Using our chairs on the deck...
This weekend we were in Clarion on the farm... Aunt Trish & Cousin Eden wanted to drive the golf cart around... of course, Kayson got a ride.
Hang on Kayson!!!
Playing ball with Cousin Hope.

We had another nice weekend... like I said, we went to Clarion for a visit. We saw both my sisters and their families, that's always nice, as it seems we don't see them very often. All the cousins just love Kayson... and ohh and aaah over him! We played outside literally all day on Saturday, then today we attended church with my family and headed back to Des Moines this afternoon. We are tired, but it was all worth it.
Kayson Walking
It's official now... Kayson is walking... all over. It's such an amazing feeling for us! He stumbles still, but for the most part, he's really getting the hang of it. Here's a little sneak peek!

Amazes Me
Kayson amazes me (us) each and every day... always something new, or a different challenge. But the last few days, I've noticed he's really trying to repeat things we are saying. THAT amazes me. Soon we will have a toddler that will really talk with us. I can't even imagine!! And he's really starting to walk around more and more. Last night he walked/stumbled from his room out to the living room... and he did the same thing this morning. Again - AMAZING! I know he's just going to take off soon... now we'll really have to watch out for bumps and bruises!!!

Outside & Easter
A beautiful weekend was had by all... through all the illnesses we've had over the past week or so (even Ryan, myself & JeanAnn all had the case of the Hand, Foot & Mouth disease - what a mess)... but we all had a great weekend.
We headed to Creston Saturday morning to celebrate Grandma Janis' 70th birthday and have the annual Taylor Easter Egg Hunt. What a gorgeous day (a little windy), but we were outside ALL day long. Kayson loved every second of it... We walked with help, crawled all over, played ball, rode in Mike's old Radio Flyer wagon, and hunted for eggs.
Today we went to church with Mike, JeanAnn, Martina & Blair - a very nice service, then had a wonderful lunch and headed home this afternoon. I'm pooped, so have been relaxing tonight... laundry is caught up and Ryan and I are just hanging out. I wanted to post some great pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!
Wagon ride... almost all day long!
Sportin' Aunt Tina's sunglasses
How cute is that?!
Egg Hunting
Even would put them in his basket!
Taking a SHORT break with Momma & Dadda
Easter outfit. What a handsome young man!
